Q: SO MARSHALL, TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW BOOK, FLIPPING OUT.
A: Hey, thanks for asking. Flipping Out is about a bunch of people who buy houses, flip them for outrageous profits, and one by one get killed off.
When I wrote it I knew that some people might say, “the housing market? That’s about as fascinating as cream cheese.” But I also knew that the book had characters you’ve come to love, a plot that will keep you guessing, and dialogue that will keep you laughing.
And now, suddenly, by some strange stroke of fate, the book is about a topic that everybody is talking about these days. Cream cheese.
Just kidding. As Bob Morris, author of Bahamarama and Bermuda Schwartz put it: “Now that the housing market has tanked and the rest of the economy with it, there's guilty pleasure in reading a book where greedy real-estate speculation would seem to provide a motive for murder. Karp gets everything right, from cop-shop talk to bedroom banter, with bite-sized chapters fueling the pace."
I think Flipping Out just may be the best Lomax and Biggs book yet. If you haven’t read the first two books, don’t worry. This one stands on its own. But if you have read the others, I think you’ll enjoy getting to meet and spend time with Terry’s wife and kids, watching Mike and Diana’s relationship grow, and shaking your head at Mike’s meddling father, Big Jim who is pushier — and funnier — than ever.
And for those of you who read the blogs as well as the books, my dog Jett has a bigger part in this one.
Next week, I’ll put the first five chapters online, so you can decide if Flipping Out is something you want to spend a piece of your stimulus package on. But if you already know that you just gotta have it — do me a favor. Pre-order now.
Retailers, whether they’re selling butter, bathtubs, or books, are just not stocking up the way they used to. I’m not good with economics, but it has something to do with that supply and demand concept. So, now that I’ve supplied the book, I’d appreciate it if you supplied the demand.

Best 48 hours I've spent in a long time. And then spent another 48 hours telling everyone I know to go get their own copies of these fantastic stories. How's your typing speed, Mr. Karp? Could you go a bit faster, please, Lomas and Biggs need to get out more. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
